FERRARI F50
The F50 was designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ferrari. Unveiled at the 1995 Geneva motor show, and announced as a ‘road-going Formula One car’, the F50 used a development of the Formula One V12 Engine block. Like the F1 car, the F50 had the gearbox, differential and pushrod suspension bolted to the back of the engine. A first for a Ferrari road car.
Designed by Pininfarina, the F50’s styling took circa 2,000 hours of wind tunnel testing to get just right, featuring an array of curves, and an even more extreme rear wing than the F40. The F50 is now seen as an important moment in Ferrari history, and a truly iconic 90’s supercar design.
