1987 FERRARI F40
Officially the F40 was built to celebrate Ferrari’s 40th anniversary, and was the last Ferrari supercar produced under the watch of Enzo Ferarri himself. Styled by Pininfarina, the low, mean and wide F40 had a sense of brutality to its design and became an instant supercar icon.
Very much a race car for the road, the front end flowed via an array of cooling slots and intake ducts to a rear end with a full-width wing and Plexiglas engine cover. With this philosophy running through the design and engineering of the F40, it has to be the last word in form following function to great effect.
