1933 Bugatti Type 59 Grand Prix
The Bugatti Type 59 is considered to be the most elegant of pre-war Grand Prix racing cars. It was Ettore Bugatti's last attempt to produce a competitive car during the 1930s. The Bugatti 59's race winning record was exceptional, with podium finishes in 1934 including first and second places in the Belgian Grand Prix, and first place in the Algiers Grand Prix.
Along with the earlier Type 35, this is the most iconic of all Bugatti Grand Prix racing cars. A simply beautiful piece of design and craftsmanship in every detail. The Type 59 had unique innovations including the incredibly elegant ‘piano’ wire wheels. A design feature never again repeated.
